Research Reviewers

Reviewers are people (IPA Members, Candidates and non-members) who are convinced that psychoanalytic research should play an essential role in the future development of psychoanalysis. They each have developed expertise in one or more branches of psychoanalytic research, and although busy with their own research work, believe it to be important to contribute their own time and expertise to aid in the critical task of evaluating IPA research grant applications. The IPA is enormously grateful for their selfless support, many over a considerable number of years.

Professor Hanly joins me in expressing heartfelt appreciation for the faithful, critical service provided by the IPA research grant reviewers. Many have contributed hours of thoughtful evaluative work for years. Analytic research is essential for the vitality and development of psychoanalysis and of IPA, and these reviewers, all very busy with their own pursuits, twice each year devote time to assessing research grant applications and writing commentaries that help us judge fund distribution as well as significantly assisting the investigators. This message provides the opportunity for us to express our deep appreciation for these essential contributions to research and to IPA.
