Advances in Understanding and Treating Adolescents  with Borderline Personality Disorder AND TFP for Adolescents CLINICAL WORKSHOP

The Personality Disorders Institute (PDI) under the leadership of Otto F. Kernberg, M.D., director, and John F. Clarkin, Ph.D., co-director, is an internationally recognized group of mental health professionals examining the range of personality pathology, including that of borderline personality disorder, and developing empirically supported treatment for these patients. Individuals suffering from personality disorder are characterized by disturbances in self-definition and functioning, and disturbances in their interpersonal relations. Personality disorders are often accompanied by depression, anxiety, self-destructive and suicidal behavior, and serious disturbances in intimate relations, social relations, and work productivity.

Family and Psychoanalysis
When facing new ways of living and being in the family and therefore new understandings of what a family requires, we believe that there is a need to stop and rethink this world we inhabit and that inhabits us.
We are not only referring to issues relating to remarried families with all the pain inherent in break-ups and separations, but also those regarding single-parent families, surrogate mothers, medically assisted reproduction, adoption and joint adoption by heterosexual and homosexual couples.  Read more
