IPA Centenary Celebration Panel in Europe - 27 March 2010

The panel ‘Contemporary Perspectives on Psychoanalysis’ is the major European event for the Centenary of the IPA. It will take place in London in conjunction with the annual EPF Conference. The panel will take place 100 years to the month in which the IPA was founded in March 1910.

 

Chaired by Charles Hanly, the speakers are: David Bell, London - “Psychoanalysis and Psychiatry: a conceptual mapping”; Marianne Leuzinger-Bohleber, Frankfurt -“Psychoanalysis as ‘a special science of the unconscious’ (Freud) at the IPA centenary” and René Roussillon, Lyon - “Une conception de la sexualité aujourd’hui: le langage du sexuel / A perspective on sexuality today - the language of the sexual”.

 

The list of speakers replaces those listed in Bulletin 2. Simultaneous interpretation is available throughout the panel.

Rule Change Ballot of the IPA Membership 2010

The IPA Membership is being asked to vote online for the proposal to replace the office of Secretary General with an office of Vice-President, who shall be elected by the members as part of a presidential team made up of the President and Vice-President. If adopted, this proposal will come into force for the next elections in 2011. Members will be able to vote on line from 12 Noon on Friday 19 March to 12 Midnight (GMT) on Sunday 25 April 2010.
