The Vermont Psychoanalytic Study group is a Non-Profit Corporation founded in 2008. Our purpose is to provide education and training opportunities for individuals interested in psychoanalysis in Vermont and adjoining areas.

In January 2009, we were approved by the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA) as a Study Group. This approval is the first step in the process of becoming an IPA Component Society. As a Study Group we receive guidance from our IPA Sponsoring Committee comprised of Dr. Andrew Brook (Chairperson) of Ottawa and Dr. Lee Ascherman of Birmingham, Alabama.

The Study Group has been given full approval by the International Psychoanalytical Association to create a training program in psychoanalysis. We began the training of our inaugural class of candidates in January 2012. We welcome all inquires including those regarding membership and training.
