The Romanian Society for Psychoanalysis was formed immediately after the political and social changes of 1989 and in February 1990.The foundation of the SPR was a pivotal moment in the development of psychoanalysis in Romania.
The Romanian Society for Psychoanalysis Study Group works under the supervision of a sponsoring committee composed of Dr. Giampaolo Kluzer (Chairman of the Committee), Dr. Luis Rodriguez de la Sierra y Escobar (Member of the Committee) and Dr. Michel Vincent (Member of the Committee).
Currently the Romanian Society for Psychoanalysis Study Group includes 23 Direct psychoanalysts recognised as members.
