Congress registration and accommodation booking
is not yet open but will be available in early February 2013
If you have made a Proposal for the IPA Congress:
How your proposals will be assessed
Individual Papers will be considered by blind review - to the extent that this is possible - by at least two experienced IPA members, other professional psychoanalysts or colleagues from other professions where deemed appropriate. These evaluations, together with proposals for other activities, will be assessed by the Programme Committee who will make the final choices. Authors will be informed if their proposal is ‘accepted for the Prague Congress’ or ‘not accepted for the Congress’. No further feedback will be given.
The Congress takes place alongside the 22nd International Psychoanalytical Studies Organization (IPSO) conference with panels, lectures, and activities organized specifically for IPA Candidates at accredited institutes worldwide. Further details about the IPSO programme will be made available in the registration materials forthcoming in 2012.
- Proposals are now invited for the following activities only: Individual Papers, Panels, Small Discussion Groups and Posters.
- All proposals must be made online.
- Proposals are welcome from Members, IPA Candidates and non-Members of the IPA.
Congress activities will include Work Groups, Small Discussion Groups, Individual Papers, Panels, Posters, Meet the Analyst/Author sessions and Films. Proposals are invited for some of these categories, others will be arranged by the Programme Committee.
All proposals must be made online by visiting www.ipa.org.uk and clicking on ‘Prague Congress 2013’. The deadline for proposals is 7 September 2012. Proposals must be received by this date. An acknowledgment will be sent in reply. Please make your proposal only in this manner and do not send it to a member of the Programme Committee.
- Decisions have already been made on the acceptance or non-acceptance of all proposals except Individual Papers.
- Decisions will be made on the acceptance or non-acceptance of Individual Papers by 8 February.
In submitting a proposal you will be asked to agree to make yourself available to present it at any time that the Programme Committee chooses from the pre-Congress’ beginning (0800 on 31 July 2013) to the Congress’ conclusion (in the late afternoon of 3 August 2013).
IPA Congresses normally receive far more proposals than there is room for at the Congress so please be aware that many high-quality proposals may regretfully have to be declined.
Please be aware that the IPA will not pay for any paper you propose to be translated or copied in connexion with the Congress.
