Outstanding Special Service Committee Members

Mandate


Purpose: From time to time the Executive Committee may wish to recognise work carried out on a voluntary basis for the good of the IPA. This recognition shall be for the efforts of an IPA Member. This recognition is not intended for the work of Committees or Board members, but for those who have not been officially appointed or elected to carry out the role for which they are to be recognised.


Recommendations for recognition: Recommendations for this kind of recognition may be suggested to the Outstanding Special Service Committee by any IPA Committee Chair or Board Member or recommendations may be solicited by the Committee at any time. The Outstanding Special Service Committee recommendations should be supported by information regarding the work that has been carried out.


Selection: The Outstanding Special Service Committee will consider all proposals received using various assessment criteria established by the Committee. All proposals recommended by the Committee will be forwarded to the Executive Committee for final decision. The Board will be informed of all such recognitions.


Announcement and Presentation: Recognition for Outstanding Special Service to the IPA is not an award, is not permanently recorded and does not carry any monetary value.


Following final approval of such recognition:

  1. The person will receive a letter from the President thanking them for their contribution and informing them that
  2. the person's name will be posted on a designated page of the IPA's website for a limited period, with a brief description of the work that the person is being recognised for, as submitted by the author of the original recommendation, and
  3. the person's name will be included in the relevant electronic bulletin.
Term


The Chair and Members of this Committee will be assumed to have submitted their resignations on the change of IPA administration in accordance with the Committees' section within the IPA's Procedural Code.
