The Board approved the Procedures for the Establishment and Maintenance of Centres Allied to the IPA for the Development of Psychoanalysis at its meeting in March 2004.
The general objective of this group of Committees is to expand the profession both within current and new geographic areas whilst maintaining high professional standards.
The Allied Centres Committee is asked to:
A) encourage the development of Allied Centres in order to expand the range of mutually beneficial relationships that the IPA enjoys with professional groups internationally, whether or not such groups eventually aspire to become IPA Societies.
B) assist groups during the application process by explaining the IPA's procedures, and keeping the groups informed of the status of applications.
C) recommend changes to IPA procedures which might better achieve the intended outcomes.
D) report to the Board not less than once a year on the activities of the Committee.
Term: The Chair and Members of this Committee will be assumed to have submitted their resignations on the change of IPA administration in accordance with the Committees section within the IPA's Procedural Code.
